Kaput-Playlist

Meryem Erkus explores the darker kind of techno.

GoldundBetonThis brand new Kaput-Playlist comes from booker and curator Meryem Erkus and explore the darker kind of techno. Labels such as Unknown Precept, Knekelhuis and the likes have a powerful, noisey output and a vibrant emerging scene.

On the occasion of up and coming artist Maoupa Mazzocchetti’s first Germany gig (03.06. / Studio 672, Cologne) here is a little input for some harder krzzzzzl-electronic-sounds.

1. MAOUPA MAZZOCCHETTI “MONA”
Taken from Maoupa’s new release on PRR! PRR! (due to end of May)

2. NICK KLEIN “MOBILITY EFFORT”
My favorite artist within the Unknown Precept circle. Touring Europe alongside Profligate and Miguel Alvarino in fall this year (stay tuned!)

3. PARRISH SMITH “PSYCHOTROPHIC”
Netherlands based producer, dj and live performer. Just like Maoupa he is a significant part of the Knekelhuis family.

4. UNICORN HARD-ON “WAVE VACATION”
That lady from Providence knows her style since almost a decade. Pioneer in female tech-noise.

5. FALLBEIL “OERDEC”
Fallbeil had an awesome release on Contort Yourself (CY002). Make sure to check out Helena Hauffs Remix for Pankow’s Das Vodkalied on CY001.

6. CLIENT UTILISATEUR -“CORPORATE SOMA BOX”
To be found on Perfekt Funktion limited Records’ compilation PFL100. PFL is a Brussels based ephemeral group of underground sound producers.

7. FORM A LOG “TAPE IT TO THE DOG (Puff Mutt Remix)”
Amazing trio featuring Container, Profligate and Rick Weaver.

8. MAOUPA MAZZOCCHETTI “LIMBO LINE”
Did I mention how much I like Maoupa’s shit?

9. VOLITION IMMANENT – SWARM BEHAVIOUR
Live-Project of Parrish Smith & vocalist Mark Vandemaat.

10. BEN FROST – NOLAN (Regis Self Medicating Edit)
Ben Frost’s masterpiece “Aurora” was completely recorded with Greg Fox, drummer of Liturgy.
